Amchi №25: The Validation has been given

I want to share a story of a man from my perspective because to see his story through my eyes made me realize that it’s never too late to start doing what you truly love and enjoy.

It’s the story of how I came across him and how a conversation with him opened my eyes a little more that I cannot give away my dreams so easily.

I was introduced to Prithvi through a connection in my college and I was told he would be a great artist to interview and dive into the topic of music. Later, I was also told that Prithvi is quite soft spoken and he is a fellow Dubai kid. I immediately wanted to know more about him, so I went and searched him on Instagram. I was seeing a colorful profile with Prithvi seeming to be very comfortable in his own element.

On his bio there was a link that led me to his music and the first song I picked was “Validation”.

The song as per me was a cry for help but in a happy way. How the voice was a one hit wonder but yet he is alone and the only thing he expects right now is some validation. It could be through any media as long as attention is being given to the voice, that’s all it needs.

This song connected to me very strongly. The reason being that I somewhere saw a part of me in the song. I used to run towards some social media attention but not be complaining about it. How did a person write a song that explains a part of life perfectly?

I wanted to know more about this person. So I reached out to him through a mail and he was humble enough to come on board with us. The moment he started sharing his story I kept feeling shocked internally. The reason being, Prithvi lived the typical Indian-Gulf life. Born and brought up in Dubai, went to an engineering college for his first degree and passively would work on his talent.

But then how did he become a songwriter? This is where I learn the lesson. Prithvi after going through the typical route of the Indian life realized this is not meant for him. He enjoyed what he did but did not see it being his future. He had to make a crucial decision for the sake of his future and chose to go the path of music. He packed his bags and flew to America to study music academically in the Berkley College of Music. He was older then, probably thought he was late in the industry. None of that really stopped him. All he knew then that he wanted to write songs and just share them with the world

Today, Prithvi is a graduate from Berkley and now has embarked a new journey to make his music career in the states. Does he have a plan in place? Nope. Does he know how he will start earning? Not a clue. But he believes in himself and the commitment towards his craft is overflowing. It would be a good guess to say that Prithvi will soon start playing at shows and have his albums being played on looped

What I learnt is that it’s never really late. It also does not matter what plans you have. All that you need is to be committed and willingness to hustle. To be true to your craft and eventually the money and fame will flow on its own.
